FAQ 🙋

🤔 What if I want to commission more than one character? Or have them pose together on a single canvas?
Absolutely - you can commission more than one character! The price multiplies based on the number of characters you commission (i.e., $150 for 3 Headshots).

You can also request to have your characters pose on a single canvas, or have each of them separated on their own canvases (there's tons of flexibility here - but please indicate this request in your order prior to me making sketches & drafts).

🤔 What payment method(s) do you accept?
I accept Paypal and direct e-transfers!

🤔 What exactly happens in each of these "Design Phases"?
i) Preliminary Draft Phase includes sketches and rough pose ideas for the character.

ii) Line Art Phase finalizes the draft with clean and precise outlines. This phase usually takes the longest!

iii) Colouring Phase involves adding the "base" and "shading" colours. When given the opportunity, I also provide a couple or several colour options to choose from.

iv) Finalization Phase includes softening the line art and adding watermark, optional graphics, and/or filters.

🤔 What if I only want a sketch or a line art?
Please indicate this request in your message! The final price is negotiable in this case.

🤔 Can I ask you to copy a specific art style?
Sorry! I can't copy a different style.

🤔 Can I ask you to copy a specific pose?
Absolutely! The client may send me reference pics of a pose they want me to replicate.

🤔 Do you take NSFW commissions?
Sorry, I don't! No excessive gore and nudity please!

🤔 Do you draw backgrounds?
All commissions will be drawn in front of a plain background (or a simple patterned background). Specific backgrounds and additional graphics can be requested, final price will be negotiated with the client.

🤔 Can I commission an artwork and give/gift it to someone else?
Absolutely!

🤔 Do you do art trades?
I don't accept art trades, sorry!

🤔 What do you specialize in? Do you have body types or gender that you prefer drawing?
My current preference would be drawing feminine characters - but I'm getting better at drawing male characters with practice! I always seek to develop my drawing skills by exploring different subjects outside my scope. This ultimately requires going outside of my comfort zone, so I welcome the challenge by maintaining an open mind.

Unfortunately, I may reject your request if you are requesting for a mecha or muscular characters with fear of disappointing my client with a poorly drawn rendition.

IMPORTANT STUFF ( ToS ) 🔍

A) Agreement: Between the Artist and the Client 🤝
The client (referred to as "you") automatically agrees to the Terms of Service (ToS) on this page by purchasing a commissioned work (referred to as "artwork" or "illustration" or "it") from the artist (Nicosarea, and referred to as "me" or "I"). ✍️

A care package (a compressed ZIP file) is given to you at the end of the service. This contains a digital copy of the following: (1) the finalized illustration in PNG format; (2) issued invoices in PDF or PNG format, and (3) all the WIPs in PNG format. 🗂️

I reserve the right to modify these terms at any time.

B) Permissions: Artist and Client Rights 🤝
By commissioning me, you are allowing me artistic freedom to draw your subject(s)/character(s) in my own art style. I maintain the right to deny commissions and/or future edit requests from a client for any reason.

You have the right to make edits, changes, and alterations to the artwork, as long as the following guidelines are followed: (a) no alterations are made to the artist's branding/watermark (or is still in a recognizable state); and/or (b) Include a short written statement crediting the artist, "Nicosarea".

I maintain the right to display the commissioned work on various forms of physical and digital reproductions (i.e. social media platforms, personal websites, printed magazines, etc.), which I may or may not profit from. The client may request to have their name or social media alias be shared alongside the final upload.

C) Permissions: Personal vs. Commercial/Monetized Use 🤝
Commissioned work is for personal use only. Any form of physical reproduction and digital reproduction of the artwork must follow the following guidelines: (a) No alterations are made to the artist branding/watermark (or is still in a recognizable state); and/or (b) Include a short written statement crediting the artist, "Nicosarea".

c-i) Examples of allowed Physical Reproductions:
You may print the artwork for your yourself or as a gift.

c-ii) Examples of allowed Digital Reproductions:
You may use the artwork as part of your branding or profile picture for your social media; You may repost the artwork in your various social media platforms and/or personal websites (following above guideline).

c-iv) Examples of disallowed Physical Reproductions:
You may NOT turn it into merchandise such as prints, stickers, sweaters, etc.

c-v) Examples of disallowed Digital Reproductions:
You may NOT sell to a third-party website; You may NOT put the commissioned work behind a paywall or pay-to-access webpage.

D) Additional Fees 💲
All listed prices are final and any additional work (i.e., additional props, backgrounds, animal companions, complicated designs/patterns...) may result in a price add-on to any incurred invoices. This may include additional sketch or edits that is normally included with the base price. In these rare circumstances, price increases are based on the complexity of the request as part of additional scope of work.

Please avoid selling and merchandising the artwork prior to getting my written consent. Please contact me if you have plans to commercialize the artwork and we can plan the terms accordingly! Typically, prices are simply doubled for commercial use concerning royalties and/or buying rights.

E) Refunds 💲
The client is eligible for a refund when they cancel their order before I begin working on the commission (technically speaking, before I send you the first WiP screenshot). Afterwards, the client is not eligible for any refund since it is considered payment for the work already completed. Additionally, the client is ineligible for full refunds for a completed commission.
