Description: A celebratory piece to welcome HololiveEN's new 3D models (by artist and Twitter user Priichu), while commemorating Gawr Gura's legendary finger-flicking moment during the livestream's reveal.
This digital piece gave me the opportunity to sharpen my composition-making skills. I sought to break the habit of creating standing poses that were distinctly static, with the intent of creating an arrangement that was both dynamic and expressive. The end-result are two characters floating in free space, which makes it possible for the piece to be viewed in whatever orientation.
I also wanted to shake things up by adding an 'explosive' background, rather than sticking with my convention of having a plain white background. I took direct inspiration from artist and Twitter user @joenghee1414 and their beautiful portrait art of Tokoyami Towa (another Hololive member). You can certainly see similarities between their art and mine; but theirs is a more of a floral (or flower petal-y) arrangement.
Ultimately, I'm extremely satisfied with how this art piece turned out - and I hope to continue improving as a digital artist.
